A Positive Shift in the Real Estate Market

NDA Real Estate sees a positive turning point in the real estate market in 2024. According to recent Bloomberg survey,  US mortgage rates are likely to decrease this year, marking a shift after three consecutive years of increases.

• Projections indicate a potential drop to 5.5% for a 30-year fixed mortgage, representing a decline of more than a full percentage point.
• Despite this, experts suggest that more significant reductions may be necessary to stimulate the market. Only 10% of survey participants believe that a 6% rate would lead to a meaningful increase in single-family inventory, while 39% argue that borrowing costs hovering around 5% would be sufficient to make a notable impact.
